Our People

Our people and our commitment to them are second to none. We do not have long lists of potential suppliers and associates but offer tried and tested and committed individuals who understand the quality expected in all our client work.

New joiners have to pass through a rigorous interview and induction process before being given an opportunity to work for Actors in Industry. We then invest in our people and they are then given on-going training and support and opportunities to develop their skills through feedback, coaching and mentoring.

We have also developed a pyramid coaching and mentoring scheme so that experience, skills and approaches can be shared throughout the organisation.

Here are comments from two of our associates:

Amanda Orton

"After working as a role player in the public and private sectors for 12 years I joined Actors in Industry as a sub-contractor.

I have been encouraged to develop my style through balanced feedback and development opportunities.

Expectations are high as Actors in Industry has a trusted relationship with its clients. I have to be able to research industry sectors and be totally credible at the highest levels of business.

But, best of all, I work with a team I admire enormously."

Ed Marsden

"When I joined Actors in Industry (AiI) I had no idea about the journey I was starting out on... a friend had said AiI is harder to get into than the National Theatre. I soon found out why!

Even though I had 4 years of good role play experience the learning curve has been incredibly steep. However, while I've been stretched and challenged I have never felt unsupported. The communication within AiI is fantastic. You are taken care of superbly by operations; you know where, when and what you are doing in plenty of time. Then on the day, ideas and expertise are freely shared and you are always picking up useful tips from your colleagues. In addition, I have had training and a coach within AiI who has developed me and who I can turn to for support.

The work is practical, interactive and fun both for us and the delegates. It is also highly varied. For example, one day I may be role playing an IT director for an investment bank, the next coaching an individual on their business impact or the next training a team on their interpersonal skills.

Since I started with AiI i have been thrown into an arena that is rewarding on many levels. I get the chance to help people with their business impact and communication skills all over the world, through a variety of experiential methods. Within AiI, I also get the chance to work with a terrific group of people who bring huge amounts of humour and dedication to making a real difference in communication."
